This article explains the identification (ID) requirements for your remotely invigilated exam. Please read this carefully before your exam to ensure the verification process runs smoothly.

To verify your identity, you must present a valid, government-issued photo ID when prompted during the exam login process.

Accepted forms of ID include:

Passport (UK or international, if valid)
UK Driving Licence (full or provisional, with photo)
UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)
National Identity Card (EU/EEA or other countries where applicable)
eVisa (using the UKVI View and Prove service). This may be displayed on a mobile phone and held up to the camera during verification.


ID that cannot be accepted

The proctoring system used for your exam can only verify government-issued identification.

The following are not accepted as valid ID:

Student ID cards
Work or employee badges
Membership cards
Library cards or travel passes
Any non-government issued ID


Preparing for your ID check

To avoid delays when starting your exam, please make sure the following requirements are met:

The name on your ID matches the registration details used to book the exam
The photograph clearly matches you
Your face and the ID are fully visible during verification
There is no glare or blur on the ID when shown to the camera
The room is well lit with minimal shadows
The ID is valid and in date

Having your ID ready before logging into your exam will help the verification process run quickly so you can begin your assessment without delay.
