In order to pass the course you need to complete the following:

Technology Requirements
Your computer needs to meet certain requirements and certain devices are not compatible. You can find out more information here.
We do not recommend you use a corporate computer due to potential system restrictions, if you are using one please ensure there is no restrictions on downloading the software to the machine or allowing remote access. If you need more information about this please let us know.
Ahead of your exam
You will receive an email from EdExams up to 5 working days before your exam. If you have not received this two working days before your exam, please contact us.
IMPORTANT!
Please ensure that you have access to the device you will be using for your examination and that you are ready and available 15 minutes before your scheduled exam start time to complete the required pre-exam checks and set up. You will need to be available at this time so that the checks can be completed before you start your examination
Please note that the exam you are sitting is for an OFQUAL regulated qualification and as such is a formal, remotely invigilated exam (this is called proctoring). The guidance below must be followed to ensure your exam as classed as a valid attempt and not voided.
Please ensure that you are ready and available 15 minutes before your scheduled exam time in order to complete the required pre-exam checks. You will be sent an invite to join a Zoho meeting. Please look out for this as this will form part of the pre exam checks.
Before joining your Zoho Meeting, please ensure that:
- Your examination area is completely clear of revision materials, notes, paperwork and any other unauthorised materials.
- You have no additional monitors or electronic devices in the room.
- You are alone in the room.
- Your camera is available so that you can complete the required three 360-degree room views.
- You have access to the device you will be using for your examination.
- Please join the Zoho Meeting promptly when you receive the invitation.
On the day of your exam
What you will need
- Please make sure you have the correct ID ready. You will need photographic ID, such as a Passport or Driving License.
- A room where:
- Your working space is clear and tidy with no notes, posters or paperwork on the walls or in the room.
- The room is quiet. Noises such as music or television are not permitted.
- There are no electrical devices (e.g mobile phones, laptops, smart watches and interactive devices such as Alexa). This is including but not limited to:
- Mobile phones, tablets, iPads, etc., are NOT permitted in the exam room.
- iPods, MP3/4 players, etc., are NOT permitted in the exam room.
- Headphones, Earphones, Airpods, etc., are NOT permitted in the exam room.
- Watches, etc., are NOT permitted in the exam room
You will be required to complete three slow 360-degree video of your room before starting the exam to show:
All walls
All desk surfaces
All floor area
That you are in a room on your own, with all doors shut
Pre-Checks
You must be available 15 minutes before your scheduled exam start time to complete the required pre-exam checks. Please ensure you are ready to begin the checks promptly when the email is received.
15 minutes before your exam - Zoho meeting
At 15 minutes before your scheduled exam start time, you will receive an email containing a Zoho Meeting link. Please make sure you are available and ready to join this meeting promptly.
During the meeting, EdExams, on behalf of ABBE, will complete the required pre-exam checks. These include:
1. Your work area must be completely clear of all revision materials, notes, paperwork and any other unauthorised materials.
2. There must be no additional monitors or electronic devices present.
3. You must be alone in the room for the duration of the examination.
4. You will be asked to show three 360-degree views of your room, including the walls, all desk surfaces and the entire floor area. This is required to ensure that a thorough room check has been completed before your exam begins.
After the room checks - Remote Assist Session
Once the room checks have been successfully completed, you will receive a second email inviting you to join a Remote Assist Session on your device.
During this session, EdExams will:
1. Download and install the EDExams app on your device.
2. Check that the application is working correctly.
3. Confirm that your examination login credentials are working.
4. Once everything has been confirmed, EdExams will leave the remote session and you will be able to start your examination as required.
IMPORTANT: Your log in details
Your examination login details will be confirmed during the Remote Assist Session following completion of the room checks.
Your login details will not be included in the initial login instructions email. This is to prevent candidates from accessing their examination before the required pre-exam checks have been completed.
You should therefore not be concerned if your login details are not included in your initial instructions. Your credentials will be confirmed with you during the Remote Assist Session.
The required pre-exam checks are carried out by EdExams on behalf of ABBE to ensure that your examination can proceed correctly and securely.
During your exam
The exam is sat in the examination conditions:
- Your face must be visible at ALL times and you mist not leave the webcam at any point.
- You may not repeatedly cover your mouth or face
- You may not repeatedly look away from the screen or keyboard
- You may not have any other person present in the exam room with you.
- ALL work must be your own.
- You must not talk or read out the exam questions.
- You must not communicate with anyone during the exam except with the invigilator via the “Q Chat” button available on every slide.
- You may not refer to notes, revision cards, textbooks, or printed/electronic materials.
- You may not take photographs or videos of exam materials or share exam content.
There are also certain items that are prohibited.
You must follow this guidance to avoid your exam being classed as invalid. An invalid exam, even if you pass, will mean that you will not receive your certificate and will have to resit the test or in some circumstances be removed from the course.
